About this website
This website is a personal platform covering, as might be expected, an ideosyncratic collection of interests; it really is a miscellany. Against current practice, the website is optimised for use with desktop computers rather than mobile devices, although there are some styles specifically for the latter. The philosophy articles, in particular, are long and best viewed on a larger screen, but it is quite possible to read them on a mobile phone.
HTML documents, except for the initial !DOCTYPE HTML specifier, are written in HTML4. Styling is almost all CSS2, with CSS3 essentially for media queries. Javascript is used for the date and for finding viewport dimensions dynamically. Over time, the website will contain an increasing number of HTML5 elements and attributes, and will take advantage of the new styling possibilities offered by CSS3. Server-side CGI programs and client-side Javascript will be written to change this from an almost entirely static website into one that offers a more responsive user experience. In the meantime, I hope you find some of its pages interesting.
